Jefferson Elementary was recognized by the National Council of English Teachers (NCTE) along with hundreds of other schools across the nation for participating in the February 2009 African American Read In!
Some of the titles read in the Library Included:
White Socks by Evelyn Coleman
Bruh Rabbit and the Tar Baby Girl by Virginia Hamilton
Great that Jefferson Elementary was recognized by the National Council of English Teachers..not an easy task...
